4th of July

We bought Riley a Little Tykes car a couple of weeks ago and I haven't posted a picture of her in it yet. She loves it! She can't push herself around, but she will get in and out of it a hundred times. She turns the steering wheel and honks the horn. If we push her around in it, she just thinks that's the greatest thing.

Riley is walking everywhere. For a long time she could walk if she wanted to but she still preferred to crawl- she could get where she was going faster that way. Now she just walks everywhere.

She has more teeth again! I've almost lost count. She has 1 molar and 4 front teeth on top and 6 front teeth and 2 molars on the bottom.

Now her word is "mommy". She says it over and over and over- mommymommymommymommy! I have to admit it is really sweet and cute, but it almost is about to drive me nuts! She calls everything mommy, whether it has anything to do with me or not.

Her new trick is that we ask her where her ear is and she points to her ear. The funny thing is that she always points to her right ear, like it's the only one. I also have gotten her to point to her nose when I ask where it's at. The other thing we ask her is what sound a cow makes and she says, "mmmmm". She has also started playing lazy peekaboo- she only covers 1 eye but thinks its just as funny.

We had a wonderful 4th of July. We met our friends, Jeremy and Heather George, and their son, Davis, at the lake. We all enjoyed going swimming together. We had so much fun catching up with them!

Then on Friday we all went and saw a baseball game with Rhett's dad and Mary. Riley liked the fireworks; they didn't seem to scare her at all. She kept saying "oooooh!"But she only was interested for the first couple of minutes and then she ran around the baseball field while Rick and Mary chased her. It was pretty funny.

Then Saturday we cooked out hot dogs at the lake with my parents. We went swimming more and rode the jet ski. Riley is a little dare devil in the pool. Her favorite thing to do was to throw the pool toys and let us go chase them. This continues with the theme of throwing everything. Now that she's walking so well, she really likes to walk along the steps at the pool. Mostly she just walks back and forth but she gets that look in her eye and boldly takes that next step to go a little bit deeper. She doesn't mind going under in the water, she just laughs.
